General Rules & Privileges

1.      Being a member allows you to use the SDHPA ring except for the dates used reserved by Stormville Airport.

2.      Remember that the ring is for members use only. The gate combo is updated annually and can be found on the back of your membership card.

3.      When you do use the ring, you must make sure that the judge’s booth is locked and the road gate is locked when you leave the property. 

4.      After using props, put them away in their designated places. 

5.      Take your garbage home with you.

6.      Please report to one of the SDHPA contacts if you find the gate open or damage to the property.

7.      Also when riding on the Airport property, remember that we are not to ride on the  upper level near the runways nor cross the driveway onto the prison property.

8.      All horses must have a current Rabies vaccine and a current Coggins test.

9.      All dogs must be on leashes and have a current Rabies vaccine.

10.  There are no alcoholic beverages permitted on the premises.

11.  During a show, the Judge's Booth is for the show committees only.  Please respect the concentration it takes to run the show by keeping down the noise and interruptions in the booth. With all respect, this would be greatly appreciated.

12.  All members are asked to donate at least one day to helping at one of the shows.  Contact the show committee you wish to work with.

13.  All members are asked to sign up one sponsor.  Ask Pat Gardner for a sponsor application.

14.  All members are asked to attend at least one meeting a year. The SDHPA meetings are held the 3^rd Tuesday of every month except Dec., which there is none due to the Holidays.

15.  There is a set of club by-laws and a monthly Treasurer's report available to all members at request.

16.  You must be an SDHPA member to qualify for year-end awards.  When filling out your membership application, remember to sign the horseback riding release on the back of the membership application.

17.  The SDHPA membership season starts April 1^st and ends March 31.

18.  Being a member gives you certain discounts at the SDHPA shows. You will also receive a monthly newsletter and may advertise a line add for an equine or animal related item for sale or service in the newsletter at no charge.
